Harrison Township Location is Now Open

Marquetta Colbert has been treating patients in the Trotwood office for 11 years and now offers the same exceptional care for Harrison Township residents.

A new – and somewhat unique – family medical practice has located in Harrison Township. In January, Colbert Family Health and Wellness opened its doors at 111 Turner Rd.

What makes the new practice different is its owner, a nurse practitioner. Marquetta Colbert, who has been treating patients in a Trotwood office for 11 years, offers services that parallel those in a traditional medical office: diagnosis and treatment of chronic illnesses, injections, screenings, physicals, non-narcotic prescriptions, referrals to specialists and telehealth visits.

Along with medical treatments, Colbert provides patients with education about their conditions, and she soon hopes to add the services of a mental health counselor.

Colbert Family Health and Wellness was recognized for the new location by both Harrison Township and the Trotwood Chamber of Commerce.

Despite being a small medical practice, Colbert Family Health & Wellness was one of the first organization in the region to provide Covid-19 testing.

The Trotwood-based healthcare company, which is a finalist for the DBJ’s Woman-Owned Business award, started offering testing in March. Owner Marquetta Colbert said they were providing this testing before any of the largest healthcare systems in the region.

“I’m proud as a small business owner that I was able to provide Covid testing very early on,” Colbert said. “I had people coming to me in March at the onset of the Covid outbreak to get testing at our office. I was very proud to be able to provide that service and provide the education early on to my patients and to the community, even those who weren’t my patients.”

When asked how she was able to offer testing so early in the outbreak, Colbert said she used her connections at a national lab that was one of the first organization in the country to offer this service.

“I just contacted them early to make sure we had everything we needed,” she said. “We were of the first ones to have everything.”

Along with testing, Colbert said she acquired personal protective equipment, or PPE, as well as other supplies to ensure patient and employee safety. She also established Covid-related policies and never had to shut down during the pandemic.

“Early on, I provided alternative types of visits, whether it be in the car or telehealth visits,” she said. “We also remained open during the whole time for people who still wanted the experience of being in the facility.”

Colbert said she provided testing to around 50 people during the first month of the pandemic. She continues to offer both Covid screening and antibody testing to this day.

Scheduling and Viewing Appointments

click on the Appointments tab at the top of the screen to schedule or view all appointments
date, time, location and doctor information will be available for each scheduled appointment
to schedule an appointment, click Schedule My Appt and enter the necessary information

Viewing Medications and Allergies

click the Meds tab at the top of the screen to view all medications, date prescribed, how often to take it, and important drug information
to request a refill, click the refill box next to the drug and select the pharmacy where you would like to it to be filled
click the Allergies tab at the top of the screen to view all current allergy information

Updating Your Account Info

click on the Account Info tab at the top of the screen
you can make changes to phone numbers and address
you can update insurance information
you can update demographic information
make changes conveniently at home and save time on the day of your appointment
